E-resistible Featured in The Independent
13th May 2010
Hi there! E-resistible was mentioned for the second time in a little more than a year in The Independent. We are really happy of this recognition of our hard work and hope that more features will come from this. It was within the context of an article of entrepreneurship coming out of universities, where E-resistible initially took its roots. Here is extract mentioning E-resistible:
"All this effort has been given the official seal of approval. The Higher Education Funding Council for England (Hefce) has awarded £40,000 to the consortium to enable it to increase its support to enterprising students, partly because Hefce wants students to look at alternative career routes in the recession. It also believes that student entrepreneurs can play a part in stimulating future economic growth.
Stephen Leguillon, a recent graduate of Warwick University, is another budding tycoon. He set up a company, E-resistible, with two other students in May 2008. All three were studying for a Bachelors degree in management at Warwick Business School and looking for a business opportunity.
"When I got to Warwick I realised I couldn't get a takeaway meal because the campus was so remote. The answer was a one-stop location where you could order food and ready meals. I hit on the idea of a website."
The rest is history. At first, 16 restaurants signed up; now there are 450 covering more than 30 towns and cities and the company hopes to expand further. Customers can pay by credit card or cash on delivery. Most importantly, the business is now profitable."
Pretty nice eh? :) e-resistible team
Happy New Year and Press Release!
25th January 2010
Hello everyone! First of all, a late Happy New Year, all the best in 2010!
Here's a bit of information on what has been release a couple of days, it may interest a few of you!
INTERNET USERS EATING FOR FREE
Internet users around the UK have found a technique to eat for free from local takeaways. Online takeaway website E-resistible.co.uk has been issuing vouchers with its “food for help” scheme to use when buying from its partner restaurants – all it takes is a little work from home.
It has been announced that E-resistible.co.uk has been feeding hundreds of hungry Internet users for free around the country via its online ordering system. The site, which links users to local takeaways, has been offering free takeaway food around the country for the past 12 months.
“Food for help” started in 2009 but was never advertised, it was carefully kept discreet with E-resistible.co.uk to avoid too fast expansion. The scheme relied on word of mouth and involved people from all around the country. Students and regular Internet users have been helping E-resistible.co.uk for an hour or so some random nights, and in return, were given free takeaway! It is understood that all jobs done were one-offs, and whoever did good work was later called upon, some offered full-time employment.
Director, Stephen Leguillon, explains: “E-resistible has been growing very fast, in all directions. Were it live or online, we need help from as many people as possible, but employing endless amounts of people wasn’t really an option in these times of recession. The “Food for help” idea was a sweet solution. We could perfectly control the costs, whilst directly promoting certain of our partner restaurants and the website. People could get the work done from home; most people only did it once or twice, random promotion jobs, which they may have heard of from friends. Essentially, it came down to the same vouchers you can find on voucher sites, we often just issued some 30-50% discounts. When a person helped us out, we gave them a voucher. Then they often got their entire group of friends or their family to order, using the voucher they received”.
E-resistible.co.uk has already revolutionised the way takeaway is ordered and it is now dedicated to bring innovation into its work management methods. As Stephen Leguillon explains, “we have work to do and we’re happy to give out discounts, but unfortunately, in this world, nothing comes for free!”

E-resistible What HAVE You Been Doing?!
19th November 2009
Hello everyone! You may think from this news page that things are quiet here at E-resistible however the truth is quite the opposite! The E-resistible team has expanded dramatically in recent months to help keep up with demand for takeaways from you hungry people throughout the UK. We are redoubling our efforts to sign restaurants in new cities throughout the UK and have recruited a sales team to help us do this. We also have a bunch of friendly faces working from our shiny new offices located in The Canterbury Business Centre in Tewkesbury who look after customer service each night making sure that every order goes smoothly.
As E-resistible has expanded in recent months we have caught up and overtaken many of our competitors in the numbers of orders that we process and the numbers of restaurants that we have signed up to the site which is great news all round :-). Thanks to all our customers who are recommending E-resistible to their friends, you guys are the reason we exist & we love being there for you at your time of takeaway need!

PayPal Option Withdrawn
27th August 2009
This is the first bit of sad news that we have for this news page :-(. Unfortunately after an extensive trial we have been forced to withdraw the option to pay via PayPal. This has been due to high levels of fraudulent activity on PayPal transactions and we have found the security measures that PayPal implement to be seriously lacking compared to our own credit card processing system. The good news is that anyone with a credit or debit card can pay totally securely for their order on the confirmation page.
We are fairly upset about having to withdraw this feature but we have tried our best to make it work. As is often the case a few fraudsters have ruined it for everybody, however, if PayPal tighten their security in the future we may decide to re-introduce it again.

PayPal Now Available
5th July 2009
You guys have spoken and we have listened! Many of you have emailed us requesting to pay via PayPal as you may be used to with Ebay and other online transactions. Now you can! For all restaurants that accept card payments there is now a further option to pay via PayPal using your existing account or by creating a new one. We have also improved the card payment process so that we can now accept more cards than before with the tightest of security so that you have peace of mind when ordering online.
We hope that this shows everyone that we really listen to every bit of feedback that we receive and will take action to maintain E-resistible as the most user friendly method of ordering takeaway food online :-).

Review of The Month Competition - Get your next meal free!
7th April 2009
E-resistible is now launching a Review of The Month competition! Every month from April the E-resistible Team will be sitting down and selecting the best review each month for that person to win their next meal on us. One of the best bits about the website is the unbiased feedback that customers of each restaurant can leave after they have eaten their meal. Every review improves E-resistible as a resource for finding the best restaurants to choose whenever you next decide to order a takeaway.
Why not reward those that make the best contributions to our community of food lovers. The best part is that you can have more than one entry into the competition each month as E-resistible invites you to review the restaurant for every order you place. The best reviews don't necessarily have to be the longest or lavish the restaurant with praise. We are looking for thoughtful reviews that reflect every aspect of your experience with that restaurant from the choice available on the menu and the qualities of each dish, down to the politeness of the delivery person. If you think it would be handy to know that information then include it!
This competition should give you that extra incentive to let others know just how good your favourite restaurant really is. The free meal will be a guaranteed £15 however if the review is extra special or you are consistently providing us with excellent reviews then we may just decide to increase it ;-)
Happy ordering...and reviewing.

E-resistible In The Birmingham Post
11th February 2008
Todays Birmingham post features an interview with one of E-resistible's Directors Steve Barnes on university graduates setting up businesses during the recession
Some of the article can be read below, for all of it please click here
Recession Forces Graduates Into Self Employment
"Student Steve Barnes, who set up an online takeaway service in his second year at Warwick Business School, said: “The number of graduate start-ups will definitely increase because of the recession. With the graduate job market as it is, anyone who’s got a business idea will be more incentivised to go and implement it. As there are less safe jobs out there it’s a good time to take that risk.”
“A recession is always an opportunity – there’s potential for people who can innovate and be dynamic. I’m quite excited by the opportunity of growth during the recession.” Steve added: “We’ve been trying to expand and position ourselves so we’re established for when the economy does come back up again”
Steve’s business e-resistible, which he runs with management students Stephen Leguillon and Velin Djidjev, was set up in 2007 after being inspired by taking part in an enterprise module in his first year at university. The website allows people to order food online from over 150 restaurants in different cities across the Midlands to be delivered to their doors.
“We’re currently growing at a rate of five per cent per week,” said Steve, “the only thing limiting us at the minute is the number of hours in the day.” It is not for the faint-hearted though: “It is incredibly difficult to balancing our degree commitments and managing the business.” Steve said. “We work from eight in the morning to one in the morning every day, but it is do-able – we just have to fit our lectures around the needs of our business.”
If you pick up a copy of the actual paper you will also be greeted with a lovely picture of the team looking very enthusiastic!

More and More Reviews
30th January 2009
As more and more people use E-resistible we are building up an extensive database of unbiased customer reviews for each restaurant. We know that the restaurant owners read their review section with interest so if you leave a comment it will definitely be taken on board. Aside from this you are also helping fellow food lovers to evaluate each restaurant before they place their order. Our aim is to remove the "risk" from ordering by increasing the customer's knowledge base before they do so.
So next time you place your order think about leaving a comment the next day as your input (however large or small) will help others and make E-resistible an even more fantastic resource for anyone looking to order a takeaway.
So please enjoy your meal.............and next time perhaps leave a review ;-)

Happy New Year!
1st January 2009
A huge happy new year to everyone who has used E-resistible so far. However you celebrated, we hope you had a good one. Hopefully 2008 will go down as the year we launched and 2009 will be the year we went nationwide! We will be redoubling our efforts this year to improve the website for our customers and expanding the number of restaurants for everybody to order from.
This seems like a good time to reflect on the websites achievement so far and say a big thank you to all of our friends and family without who's support and help we could not have embarked on such an undertaking.
Thank you everyone, bring on 2009!

Constant Development
18th December 2008
We have new restaurants being added to the website every day so keep checking your area to see if we have discovered a new restaurant that may be perfect for your next night in. Restaurants are now approaching E-resistible to be listed which is very encouraging and shows the impact that we are having after just 6 months.
We now have a video to show new customers just how easy it really is to order from E-resistible complete with commentary from Stephen.
Some eagle eyed people will notice some subtle changes to the home page which now shows a selection of restaurants from the various cities that we operate in. As you move your mouse over each restaurant the map will show you exactly where the restaurant you are looking at is located.
This is the first part of a few improvements we are making to the home page to give users easier access to information and reviews about each restaurant. If you have any comments as we implement these improvements please drop us an email to team@e-resistible.co.uk and we will read it and reply!
Happy Ordering :-)

The Independent writes about E-resistible
4th December 2008
Following our win of the Be Your Own Boss competition a couple of weeks ago, were approach by the national newspaper The Independent. The team had an interview with them and subsequently an article was published.
Some of the article can be read below, for all of it please click here
"At Warwick University, the entrepreneurs society has more than 200 members.Last month it staged the final of its Be Your Own Boss contest – their answer to the television programme Dragons' Den. The judges for the competition included representatives from some of the major names on the milk round of graduate recruitment."
"Steve Barnes, a director of e-resistible, the online takeaway service that took home the £1,000 prize at Warwick, says the competition has been a vital experience. "Even as a confidence boost and to see where we are with the business it was invaluable," he says. "It was the first time we'd pitched to an investor who was going to cast a serious critical eye over the business, and the judges really didn't mince their words; they really went for it sometimes."
All four judges gave the e-resistable team the nod and it's hard not to see why. Launched in May 2008, the website allows customers to order takeaways over the internet, and already has 130 restaurants on its books. The three 20-year-old directors – all BSc management students from Warwick Business School – chose to forego important banking internships last summer to build the business."
We are all very proud of this achievement and thank all of your for helping this happen. Subsequent articles in other newspapers are to be published soon!

E-resistible won the "Be Your Own Boss" Competition.
23th November 2008
Last Friday, four teams of entrepreneurs participated in a Dragon's Den style competition, sponsored by Merrill Lynch and Accenture. A panel of four judges, and the audience, had to decide which was the best business. A prize of £1000 and backing of a business mentor was at stake.
The E-resistible Team performed remarkably and did an impressive pitch. We won the audience's vote, and all 4 judges chose E-resistible.co.uk as their favourite! We therefore won the competition and all the prizes.
Our online food ordering website was proved to be extremely useful and a great business concept. The fact that all types of food can be ordered in one place impressed the panel a great deal.
E-resistible thanks everyone who came to the show for their support.
See you all soon,
Stephen, Steve and Velin
Hello all!
25th September 2008
This summer has been so busy we don't know where to start! First of all we have added over 100 restaurants to the website and we now cover all of Birmingham, Bristol, Coventry, Warwick, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Bath.
In each area we have tried to provide as much choice and variety as possible however if your favourite local still isn't listed then let us know, we will seriously follow this up.
The website has also been developed to make us the best method of placing your order to a takeaway restaurant. The rate and review section has been running for a few months now and you can now pay online with your card at many of our restaurants. One other thing to say is we have added a search function within menus to make finding your favourite dish that little bit easier :-)
Thank you for visiting us again and enjoy your meal!
